Meet the Team .......

Jules Norman  -  Group Leader

I LOVE the Labrador breed.  I founded LUKAG in 2014  and gained Charity Status in 2020. Our whole team work as one, all for the love of Labs, which I'm really proud of.  I am very thankful to live in rural Suffolk.

I currently have three labs, one chocolate, one crazy fox red and one black and all boys.  One came into foster for medical treatment and never left, another came into rescue and I couldn't help myself having lost my black boy in 2023.

I have owned Labs for over 30 years.  I have been through the rough and smooth times with them.  I am dedicated to making sure that any labrador is given the love and safety it deserves.  I love to foster some of our rescue Labs that need extra rehabilitation into the human world.

I joined LUKAG in April 2015.  I love being part of this team.  I am based in Scotland which means that we have the whole of the UK covered.

I got my Labrador Olly in June 2012 and he lived to the grand age of 13 years,  3 months and 1 day, when he passed in July 2025.

He changed my life forever and proved to me Labradors really are our best friends they rely on us solely to nurture and care for them.  This is my main reason for wanting to be part of this team.  I love the feeling you get when you rescue a Labrador and know that they will be going to a 5* amazing home.  Often there are tears from owners and me (more often me!) as they don’t take rehoming their Labradors lightly.

Joining LUKAG in summer 2016, I am delighted to be part of a team that not only ensures that dogs are safely rehomed, but one which also gives owners peace of mind if they have to make the heart breaking decision to rehome their Labrador.

Myself and my family have always been huge advocates for rescue dogs, and I feel passionately that these dogs should be given the second chance they so deserve. My love of Labradors began when my children were small – a friend had a Labrador and I remember thinking ‘what a fabulous family dog’, so we made the decision to adopt via a Labrador specific rescue.  My children grew up with her and now all 3 of them share my love of these gorgeous gentle dogs.

Now 10 years on, sadly our first Labrador is no longer with us, but we still have our beautiful choccy girl who is now 15, and over the summer adopted amazing 6 year old Max.

The work we do means so much to me, and I feel incredibly honoured that I can ensure every Labrador I am coordinator for goes to a wonderful 5 star home.  It is a huge responsibility, and sometimes it can be overwhelming, but I am part of an amazing team of Coordinators and Trustees that support each other no matter what.

Labradors have been a part of my life from the day I was born, we always had one in the home. My husband and I have had 6 labradors together, we adore their characters, behaviours and the ability to make a house a home; for us there is no better breed to have around children growing up.

Having lost our 1st labrador Dexter at an old age of 15 last year, we reached out to LUKAG to look at adoption and we were matched with the beautiful Lexi who we wouldn’t be without. We now have another rescue Charlie and a lovable fox red Cooper – but there is always room for more 😊

It was the care and passion from the charity that gripped me and I knew I wanted to help other labradors however I could, so I joined the team shortly after.

Our first family dog was Ruby, a black working type Labrador. She was by no means an easy first dog, but we adored her and she taught us so much.

Since we lost Ruby in 2020, we have been surrounded by rescue dogs, and currently have a show cocker, a working cocker and a Brittany. I volunteered with a spaniel rescue for many years and coordinated the foster side. I wasn’t good at fostering, and managed to adopt 4 of the 7 dogs we fostered !

I’m looking forward to being able to give something back to a Labrador rescue now, in memory of Ruby, as she had such a special place in our hearts.
